While building of the Holocaust Memorial is nearly completed, an exhibition at the ifa Gallery shows artistic responses to the role of industry in the Holocaust. And so Yael Katz Ben Shalom documents the industrial practices of the firm J.A. Topf & Sons in Erfurt, where the ovens for the death Lagers were developed. Tanya Ury deals provocatively with the fashion concern Hugo Boss that once earned its money with the tailoring of SS, SA (Storm Trooper) and Hitler Youth uniforms. The unusual design for a Holocaust Memorial in the form of a bus station, with the destinations Sachsenhausen, Auschwitz etc, is presented in the exhibition.
